Take a behind the scenes look at Florida's sugar cane industry at Lake Okeechobee. Ride through the fields, see how sugar is grown, and discover the process that fuels one of Florida's largest industries. A fun, educational adventure you don't want to miss!

Please join Raisin' Cane and the Clewiston Chamber of Commerce for a free tour that uncovers how the sugar industry works and the environmental challenges that reach from Lake Okeechobee all the way to the Florida Keys.

The Clewiston Chamber of Commerce is offering a free bus trip with a bathroom on board, a complimentary lunch and, space for just 34 people.
Pickup will be at 1133 Bal Harbor Shopping Center located at the corner of Bal Harbor Blvd and Aqui Esta Dr,
  departing promptly at 7:30 AM and returning by 3:30 PM.

On arrival we’ll make a convenience stop at the Chamber of Commerce and then our guide will introduce us to sugar cane growing, local farming history, processing and ecological initiatives here in Florida.  We’ll see the processing plant and sugar cane fields so wear flat closed-toe shoes for outdoor walking. After learning all about the life cycle of sugar production, a local guide will introduce us to the history and current-day life of Clewiston and Lake Okeechobee. We’ll enjoy lunch (provided free of charge) followed by free time to explore the Chamber of Commerce Museum and gift shop.  By mid-afternoon we’ll be headed back home to PGI with a new appreciation of the sweetener that adds so much pleasure to our lives.  Space is limited so reserve your seat on the bus now! If you register and can't make it, please cancel your registration so another member can attend.

•  Excursion, including transportation, guiding and lunch is free
• Bottled water will be provided throughout the day.
• Closed toe shoes are required for walking in the cane fields.
