About Us

Beyond Ourselves is the community service organization of the Punta Gorda Isles Civic Association (PGICA).

We meet on the third Wednesday of the month, September through May, at 10:00 AM at the PGICA building
located at 2001 Shreve Street in Punta Gorda. Visitors are always welcome to attend. Click here to learn

In March 2012, a group of caring residents of Punta Gorda Isles decided to form an organization with their goal:
to serve others in the community. This marked the beginning of Beyond Ourselves.

Our Three Missions:

Mission 1: Helping the children’s charities of Charlotte County

Mission 2: Aiding the homeless of Charlotte County

Mission 3: Protecting the wildlife of Charlotte County

Our two largest annual fundraising events are the Beyond Ourselves Bash (BOB) and the
Share the Love for the Kids Home Tour. We also coordinate a variety of ongoing activities in an effort to
support our missions.

Recent Events

News from our April Regular Monthly Meeting

Members of BOS’ Technology Committee met to review last year’s print, digital, social media, and website efforts in support of the Beyond Ourselves Bash (BOB), the Home Tour and other BOS events. Committee chair, Pat Halloran, will lead updates at upcoming general meetings to keep the membership in the loop about Tech Comm activities and support needs. If you have strong word-processing, spreadsheet or website skills, consider joining the committee by contacting the committee chair, Pat Halloran, or one of the members of the Tech Comm (Laura Hart, Lu Ponte, or Linda Taylor) to volunteer.

	Special Announcements

	A huge thank you to all who purchased tickets and participated in the 2024 Share the Love for the Kids Home Tour. We are deeply grateful for our donors, sponsors, homeowners and volunteers!


	Our 2024 Share the Love for the Kids Home Tour will award $85,000 to charities that support children in Charlotte County. For more information, visit the Home Tour page on our website.
